A Balanced Modulator using the NE602

This balanced modulator using the NE602 was described by G4EUK in Sprat 76 as a replacement for the modulator in the CSP transceiver. He claims carrier suppression of 40db and output of 700mv.

I have tried this circuit and had to replace the resistors for the switched crystals to 1k, but I used different diodes, which were to hand.

I hope this circuit is of interest, and although the NE602's are now obsolete, they are still available and may be found in some junk boxes.
