Receiver Muting Circuit

This cicuit for receiver muting was described in Sprat number 84, being originally credited to W7EL and used in many rigs. A small voltage is required on the source of the FET, and the optional items shown by an asterix may be required if the circuit in use does not supply the volts required. The resistor from source to drain allow monitoring of the transmit signal and may be adjusted to suit the circuit and the operator's requirements, and may be omited if complete muting is needed. In the circuit shown muting between a NE602 mixer/oscillator and LM386 audio is used as an example, as this combination is commonly used in simple rigs.
