The goal of the K3 Wiki is to provide a reference for the new high performance transceiver from Elecraft, the "K3". As the transceiver firmware is a work in progress, we'll attempt to document the current status of all things K3 and provide some idea of what is intended for the immediate future.

This should provide one stop shopping for K3 information at many levels, reducing the need to post the same questions over and over on the Elecraft reflector, which is focused primarily on answering questions about kit construction or new ideas and suggestions.

Also feel free to make changes to any existing pages with respect to accuracy in content, spelling, or grammar. Just click on the "discussion" tab located to the right of the K3 photo and provide the changes that are desired. The sysops will come around periodically and update the pages with the discussion text. Include your email address if you are available to be contacted about any change you submit.   • Tell everyone who you are - click create account at top right of this screen and enter your call and any password. You will not be asked for any other information, nor will you be contacted. K3 Shipping Status

K3 and accessory shipping status is available from the Elecraft Website.

K3 shipments began the week of Nov 12 2007 in volume. The first order group of K3's (orders taken prior to May 14, 2007) were targeted to be fully shipped by mid January 2008. As of June 17, 2008 the first 1100 units have been produced.

  • The Subreceiver is in limited distribution test as of June 2008.
  • K3 orders previous to Serial Numbers 350 contact parts@elecraft.com regarding trivial hardware mods that are avialable for your unit, later units may have the mod incorporated.

K3 Manuals

Elecraft manuals are available directly from the Elecraft website. Please visit the Elecraft K3 web page for more information.

K3 Help and Service

Elecraft has created k3support(at)elecraft.com as a general K3 support request address. Replace the '(at)' with '@' in the address. This should be used for any support request emails to get new K3's up and running or to report firmware issues. It goes to the main team of people who are involved in tackling K3 issues.

MONDAY & THURSDAY USA-NIGHTS / 0130 & 0230 UTC (In Europe that's Tuesday and Friday mornings) FREQUENCIES: 7.192* MHz and 14.316 * +/- the QRM Use memories or band switch to go back and forth, to see what works best.

SUNDAYS 1800 UTC 14.316 MHz

Please tune +/- a few kHz to look for the net. If you don't hear anybody, please call it yourself -- There isn't always a regular net control present.
