I've built a couple of K2's and have had an order in for a new K3 as of May 11, 2007. I'll be starting with the 100 watt PA, general coverage option, and the transverter/bandscope accessory as well. I'm heavily invested in Ten Tec analog gear at the present, really enjoy CW, and figure K3 will be the cat's meow.


I don't think Elecraft is charging enough for the K3, making it prone to backlogs in the beginning, and price increases later. After the QST review of this radio provides the "seal of approval" for mainstream acceptance there could be a real run on this transceiver for some time to come. The demand, of course would be global, so think about ordering early - very early if you are into CW or contests. ;-)
