In response to a list member who used some strong language, many folks commented on the QRP-L list about the problem. The comments ranged from mild criticism, sarcasm and helpful messages. One poster took it upon himself to step up as the "content keeper" if the list owner wanted to make the list manual approval.

To the list owner, I hereby present myself as a willing volunteer to help screen out these sorts of messages and spammer type content. If the list owner wants to put the list on manual approval needed for a message to be posted, I am willing to share the burden of reading and approving posts that are appropriate. Will anyone else step forward and make the same offer?
Be very careful if you correspond with KY1K....while he'll ask you NOT to post to the list, he may BCC others to make himself look good.

Not that he has an over-inflated notion of his own worth, or anything:
"I operate an anti-spam biz, some major ISP's hire me to track down the slimiest of the slime. I
think we both know about spam, I testified at a trial last week and have never had any claim
disputed in any court. I have remote sysop privileges on quite a few networks in order to track
spammers in real time....mostly for checking logs, connect attempts and suspected activity
exploiting security defects in the system."
